One of the Great Inns of Britain, The Hundred House Hotel is situated a short distance away from the worlds famous Ironbridge and is central to all local attractions. Set in an old-world, family-run property on a country road, the Hundred House Hotel is off the A442 road, 5.4 miles from Ironbridge Gorge and 5.7 miles from Severn Valley Railway. Just a short journey away from Telford, Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury, the hotel’s location is ideal for the perfect getaway with your four-legged friend. The hotel offers lavishly decorated bars with beamed ceilings and is oozing with quirkiness from the moment of entry.
In a distinct difference to other Telford hotels; the Philips family have spent the last 30 years expertly crafting the Hundred House Hotel. These lavish, en suite hotel rooms include flawless attention to detail, with antique furnishings, chandeliers and stunning four poster and half tester beds. Each and every bedroom is unique in design and most even have the hotel’s renowned velvet covered swing. Refurbished bathrooms featuring Victoria and Albert baths and rain showers add even more decadence to your stay.
Nine of the ten stunning bedrooms are dog friendly and up to 2 dogs can stay at a cost of £10 per dog per night. There is no restriction on size of dog but they advise you to be mindful when booking a room – if you have a very large dog best to book a Superior double than a Standard double!
Nothing is provided in terms of bedding for your dog at the Hundred House Hotel but they will provide water bowls as required.
Everybody here at The Hundred House loves dogs! They will get lots of fuss! They will be welcomed into certain areas of the bar with only the restaurant out of bounds. However you needn’t despair, there is plenty of dog friendly seating in the bar area where you and your canine companion can sample the superb menu. Head chef and second born son, Stuart Philips, encompasses the best produce that Shropshire has to offer along with a choice of over 100 herbs from Henry’s garden, in a flavour driven, award winning menu.
You and your four-legged friend can also explore the spectacular gardens, encompassing a herb garden, water garden and many unusual varieties of roses. The garden has also won an award – the Best Kept Secret award 2013.
If you can tear yourself away from the Hundred House Hotel, you and your dog can visit Ironbridge Gorge where dogs on leads are welcome on the streets and footpaths at Blists Hill Victorian Town.
There are many good walks in the area and why not take a trip on the Severn Valley Railway!
Steam trains operate from Kidderminster and Bewdley to Bridnorth through 16 miles of countryside along the River Severn.
Dogs £2 each for any journey, single or return. Dogs may travel on trains, except in the dining cars, but are not permitted to the Engine House Visitor Centre.
The Hundred House Hotel is a welcome addition to Have dog Can Travel as a delightful, unique venue in a great holiday location.
