Dating back to 1432, The Bear Hotel is situated in Crickhowell in the Brecon Beacons. This historic, former coaching inn is in the centre of Crickhowell and 6.4 miles from Abergavenny Castle and Museum.

The Bear has original features, such as a cobbled forecourt, with an old archway leading to an inner courtyard.
There are 30 dog friendly rooms at The Bear including Standard and Courtyard rooms.
Up to 2 dogs can stay at no additional cost and there is no restriction on size of dog.
The Standard Rooms, some being in the main historical building have lots of character while the Courtyard Rooms are more modern in style. All have modern facilities such as free WiFi and satellite TV.

The popular bar at The Bear has a low-beamed ceiling, with a winter log fire and many antiques. It has twice won the ‘Best Pub in Britain’ award. A number of real ales are served, along with vintage wines.
Walk a few minutes downhill from The Bear and you’ll reach the River Usk where there is a river meadow to walk along with your dog.
Take a gentle amble along the towpath of the Monmouth and Brecon Canal – spot the wildlife as the boats go by.
