Have Dog Can Travel is pleased to introduce you to the extremely dog friendly Golden Fleece, Wells-next-the-Sea. The Golden Fleece is situated right on the quayside in Wells at the end of the main shopping area of Staithe Street.
On Thursday 5 December 2013, two significant events happened at The Golden Fleece.
Firstly, the business took on a new owner, Steve Brundle.
Secondly, the building was flooded when the worst tidal surge hit Wells since 1953.
A major clean up and refurbishment following the flood resulted in the modern, comfortable pub you see today.
The pub has quickly become renowned for its warm welcome and excellent food.
Whether you want a hot breakfast to set you up for the day; afternoon tea; a delicious lunch or dinner, The Golden Fleece will not disappoint.
Of course one of the main reasons Have Dog Can Travel likes The Golden Fleece is the exceptionally warm welcome given to our four-legged friends. Dogs are welcome in the lovely, cosy bar area. Water will be provided and there is a huge jar of dog biscuits on the bar counter.
Food-wise, The Golden Fleece serves a great range of locally sourced fresh ingredients and you will be spoilt for choice as they pride themselves on providing some of the best fine dining you will find in the region.
The full menu is served from 12pm, featuring dishes which put a twist on pub favourites, daily specials and they also specialise in fresh, handmade pizzas, made and topped to order so there’s bound to be something you’ll love.
And they will have just the tipple to complement your meal. If you fancy a pint, the Cask Marque beers won’t disappoint. And for the discerning wine drinker, they have fine wines from the around the world.
The Golden Fleece is part of the Eat Sleep Norfolk group. It is also Have dog Can Travel’s favourite place to eat in Wells and Zuki agrees with The Golden Fleece – they do serve the ‘best roast on the coast’.
