The Talbot Hotel is situated in the heart of the North Yorkshire market Town of Malton and only 20 minutes’ drive from the city of York.
Originally built in the early 17th century as a hunting lodge and trading as an Inn since 1740, The Talbot Hotel has remained in the Naylor-Leyland family since 1739.
The Talbot Hotel has recently been fully restored with the owners seeking to create a hotel for Malton to be proud of and indeed in 2014 the Talbot was awarded Welcome to Yorkshire Small Hotel of the Year.
Everything in the hotel has been brought up to the level that you would expect of a modern hotel, whilst retaining the character of the original historic building and you will be welcomed into this elegant yet extremely comfortable hotel with 26 bedrooms, landscaped gardens and a great restaurant.
You will find that at the Talbot Hotel they love dogs and appreciate that they are part of your family and time apart can be difficult. Therefore they encourage you to bring them with you.
Your beloved pet can stay in any one of the 26 rooms. All of the rooms are individually designed and you can choose from Ryedale Doubles (spacious rooms with walk in shower); Malton Doubles (kingsize beds, mostly on the ground floor – one with wheelchair access) or Norton Doubles (with super-kingsize beds). There is also the luxurious Fitzwilliam Suite on offer.
To welcome your pooch and help make their stay as comfortable as yours, they provide a blanket, bowl and chews. There is also a dog grooming studio in Malton and we can help arrange an appointment for your dog should you want to treat them! Please just ask at reception.
There is a charge of £10 per room per stay to cover extra cleaning costs.
A maximum of 2 dogs can stay at the Talbot Hotel and there is no restriction on dog size. Dogs are allowed in all the public areas of the hotel including the bar, Drawing Room and Malton Brasserie so you can enjoy some of the fabulous food the Talbot has to offer as they are only restricted from the Wentworth Restaurant or the Private Dining room.
There is plenty for you and your canine friend to explore in the area. Right on the doorstep are some of Yorkshire’s most celebrated attractions including Castle Howard, the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors, the coast at Robin Hood’s Bay and the City of York itself.
However if you and your four-legged friend simply want to relax by an open fire and have good food and a pleasant break from the fast-lane then you are definitely in the right place at the Talbot Hotel.
