The Victoria Inn is located on the coast road close to the north gate entrance to Holkham Hall. It is a 10-minute walk from the golden sands of Holkham beach and National Nature Reserve and is a perfect base for discovering the windswept coastline, seaside towns and villages on the north Norfolk coast. Coke of Norfolk, the great agriculturalist, built the hotel in 1838, the year after Victoria’s accession to the throne. After being leased out for many years, it was taken back into Estate ownership in 2001.
Following an extensive refurbishment involving local craftsmen and designers, The Victoria re-opened in early May 2013 and has been transformed into an independent English inn offering great food, stylish accommodation and friendly service. The Victoria is one of the Great Inns of Britain, a collection of some of Britain’s finest traditional inns (www.greatinns.co.uk).
There are 10 bedrooms at the Victoria Inn – 2 small doubles; 5 standard doubles; 2 large doubles/twins and 1 family room. All are dog friendly.
Up to 3 dogs can stay and the only restriction on dog size is the size of the room i.e. small doubles are not suitable for large dogs especially if there is more than one.
There are kennels at the Victoria for those dogs not suitable to stay in rooms. These are located in the main car park. The Victoria provides dog beds, water bowls and dog biscuits upon arrival but guests are requested not to leave their dogs alone in the rooms.
Dogs are welcome in all downstairs areas including bar and restaurant.
For walking Lady Anne’s Drive which leads to Holkham Beach is directly opposite the Inn and The Holkham Estate grounds are also nearby.
An additional cost of £10 applies to have your dog stay in your room.
No other pets are allowed.
