The Weir, originally named The White Horse, is the oldest surviving licenced premises in Brentford, dating back to 1604.
The White Horse became The Weir in 2002 when the premises came under the new management of Joanne Scully.
Owned and run by Joanne, her passion for hospitality and experience in the industry quickly made The Weir synonymous with great food, wines, whiskeys, cocktails and, of course, professional, friendly service.
Most importantly, dogs are made most welcome at The Weir where they will be brought a bowl of water and can enjoy the cosy comfort of the Bar area or in good weather you and your canine companion can enjoy al fresco dining in the beautiful riverside garden.
The recent refurbishment gave this beautiful old building, and its original features, the love and care it deserved, whilst updating the decor and furnishings to add more ambience, style and most importantly comfort, in keeping with the old building.
Food-wise, the chef at The Weir is passionate about creating the most exceptional seasonal menus and sourcing the best market produce.
The menu includes delicious Irish rock oysters on crushed ice with lemon, tabasco & shallot vinegar and for the main event, the Chateaubriand sharing steak is exceptional.
Have Dog Can Travel can vouch for this personally as we had this recently at The Weir and it was perfectly cooked and totally delicious.
The Weir prides itself on attentive, friendly service and Have Dog Can Travel can highly recommend this as a place to enjoy good food in a welcoming atmosphere for you and your four-legged friend.
