Hi my doggie friends,
So we have been staying at Happy Days Retro Vacations and I must say it totally exceeded Human Mum (Hum’s) expectations. Think she likes her touches of luxury – she doesn’t ‘do’ camping apparently….something to do with bad experiences as a Girl Guide….
Right from the get go we were made to feel really welcome – there is a lovely little retro-styled reception where we met Kevin who really helped us settle in and introduced us to Betsy our Airstream for the weekend.
Betsy is defo the best Airstream on the site – both Hum and I LOVED the bright red settees and I loved the fact that the funky table turned into a BIG bed for me to spread out on!
If other people (families with children) are here you have got to be on lead on the actual campsite but there is a MASSIVE garden you can play in off lead so we had lots of time playing ball and exploring there.
Jenny and Kevin are just lovely and Hum said they were more than helpful with maps and advice and stuff to keep us happy. Hum also said the whole place had been created with love and real attention to detail. She raved about all the little retro touches – the lampshade; tablecloth; oven glove; crockery; even the shower curtains in the shower block! Said it was important for your humans that I mention this as they appreciate that sort of thing.
There is only Betsy to stay in as a dog just now (we think it is the best Airstream on site though – did I mention that before..) BUT they are planning another dog friendly Airstream soon so I will keep you posted.
Hum thought it was all really well equipped – oven and hob inside; fridge/freezer; lots of utensils; tea, coffee etc. (very important to Hum – she likes her coffee first thing in the morning). Hum did some cooking inside but mainly barbequed (when we weren’t eating out in pubs to do reviews). It was nice to sit outside and we went to visit our neighbours and they toasted marshmallows over a fire pit!
BTW Hum says I also have to let you know that the shower block was modern and clean with retro touches and lovely hot showers. This is no ordinary campsite – very glam!
SO this really is a place I can recommend you get your Humans to take you. Hum LOVED it and I think she has been converted – still not a camper but defo a ‘glamper’ now!
A definite 5 paw prints 🙂
