Hey dog Pals,
So I have started my BIG summer adventure to Northern Ireland where Hum’s Mum lives but will be stopping enroute to bring you some good dog friendly venues I hope!
First stop was a place called Longlands Inn and Restaurant. Now this is JUST a REALLY short way from the BIG, NOISEY, road we were on that Hum told me was the motorway. BUT when we stopped here it was SO peaceful and quiet – Hum was totally amazed!!!
We got met by the lovely Kirsty who Hum had spoken to on the phone and she really welcomed us! She got me to try to sign in – not an easy task so Hum helped…
Kirsty showed us to a very pleasant (but a bit bland according to Hum) room…that overlooked sheep fields (yep those fluffy things I like to chase) I LOVED the big window seat where I could check them out! It was surprisingly quiet said Hum!
I was more interested in what was for me! A BIG bed; blanket; towel and dog bowls with poo bags BUT it didn’t take me long to spot one was filled with super duper treats! Yeah! Thanks Kirsty! YUM!!! Del-ic-eous!!!
Hum totally liked the window seat; the space in the room and the bathroom. No face cloth but the toiletries apparently were excellent! Hum LOVED them! She seemed very happy!
Kirsty showed us a great walk by the canal – so amazing that this is just right beside the big busy motorway road thing BUT so peaceful and nice – fields of horses and cows and the silly sheep thingys and ponds and boats and a marina and just WOW! Really lovely to explore on walks. I met lots of other dogs and all their Humans told Hum how fantastically dog friendly Longlands is and how they all revisit.
Back to the Inn for dinner and fortunately the chicken Caesar salad was finished so Hum ordered a thing called a Barnsley chop – Oh my that was good and a yummy bone to chew on!! Good old Hum! I like the Longlands so far!
Hum thought the bed was super comfy and said she slept like a log – think this just meant she didn’t want to get up – lazy Hum!!!
Only downside of the room was in the morning we could hear the people in the next room and Hum said just as well it wasn’t the honeymoon suite! Not sure what she means!
A quick trip outside for my morning ablutions and then breakfast. We had a table in the bar area – in fact the whole bar area was ours! Very pleasant. AND not only did I get a bowl of water BUT also a BIG bowl of little dog biscuits! WOW now that was very impressive and they were very tasty.
Hum had eggs and soldiers and shared some with me – Very yummy! Good eggs! And Hum said the coffee was excellent so she was a very happy Hum indeed.
After breakfast another walk along the canal and more dogs to meet and creatures to see. Then back to the room for ANOTHER coffee for Hum and time for me to start writing up my Blog before setting off to the next destination.
All in all I can TOTally, ABSolutely recommend to take your Humans to stay at Longlands. And I give it a super duper high five paw prints!!
