The Bell Hotel, Saxmundham, Suffolk

Hi my doggie friends,

When we were in Suffolk last weekend we visited the Bell Hotel in Saxmundham near Happy Days Retro Vacations where we were staying in Betsy the Airstream.

The Bell turned out to be a very nice place indeed and very dog friendly. We were welcomed by Luke the supervisor who made sure we were seated in the bar and brought me a proper dog bowl of water (not just an empty ice cream tub or such-like that some places provide). He also brought me a little dish of treats – I hadn’t seen treats like these before – they were really pretty bright coloured – pink and yellow – Hum said they looked like sweets for dogs! And they were yummy too!

Hum ordered Sea Bass Salade Niçoise. I got my napkin sorted (well I tried anyway) and sat up all good and ready to share (well have the best bits) – I really enjoyed the crispy fish skin and the egg! Hum as usual ate all the healthy stuff – tomato, beans, general salad stuff – she said there were micro-leaves, anchovies and potatoes and told Tom the General Manager it was delicious – perfectly dressed and seasoned so she really enjoyed that meal!

The Bell really was most dog friendly – I noticed that all the other dogs in the bar were catered for with treats even if their humans weren’t eating.

You can’t stay in the rooms at the Bell but definitely worth a trip to sample the food!
