Rufford Country Park and Rose Cottage

Hi dog friends,

At the weekend Hum (human Mum) took me to a new place for a walk. We went to Rufford Country Park where she used to take the boys when they were little and where apparently her Mum loves to visit because of the tea rooms and craft shop.

We stuck to the lake walk which was lovely. First of all we went past the old Abbey and across the gardens and then round the lake. I met lots of other dogs including my first meeting with another Poochon! She was called Dora and she was ever so sweet or as Hum said A-Dora-ble. She is pretty bad at jokes – sorry.

Hum showed me where there is a Ford and all the children watch the cars splash through. The little people squealed with delight if there was a big splash. They also seemed to like feeding the ducks but I would have preferred to be able to chase them! The ducks that is not the little people 😉

You have to be on a lead at Rufford Country Park but it can be a long lead and so you can still explore. Very pleasant morning out.

After our walk we went over the road to The Rose Cottage pub where we were treated extremely well – had a lovely table in the restaurant! I checked out the menu while front of house brought me some water and found Caesar Salad. I know Hum likes the healthy salad stuff and I love the chicken so this was a good choice.

Delicious with excellent dog friendly service. Make sure if your humans take you for a walk to Rufford that you all go to Rose Cottage for lunch!
