The Red Lion, Cromer

Hi dog pals,

How does Hum (Human Mum) do it? She can just find the best places ever to stay! On Sunday night we checked into the Red Lion in Cromer in Norfolk and it was a-maz-ing!

Hum had said she initially had hoped for a sea view room but there weren’t any available that night however, when we saw Room 5 (the old Billiard Room) we were like ‘who needs a sea view when you have a ginormous bath tub in your even more ginormous room facing the TV!!!’

Hum was ecstatic and danced around taking photos of the size of the room; the tub; the tea and coffee tray (it had one of those cafetiere things on it that she gets so excited about) and then she noticed the bit we came to find out about – how dog friendly it was.

Well I can tell you from the time we entered reception the staff were lovely and in this amazing room there was a lovely bed and blanket just for me beside the fireplace and a dog bowl with 3 sausage treats (yum) and a lovely little note to welcome me. Now that is what I call good service!

We went for a walk on the beach – you have to go to the end of the promenade at this time of year to be let off lead but it isn’t far and it is a lovely beach to explore.

Before dinner, Hum filled her big tub with bubbles and watched TV murmuring over and over again ‘mmm this is just perfect’ while I got down to business – getting my blankies out to test the rest of the furniture. I can tell you it all lived up to expectation – super comfy huge bed for Hum and a lovely sofa and chairs.

Hum sat wrapped in the big fluffy robe provided and watched the end of some TV show and then we finally managed to get sorted and ready for dinner.

Food was excellent – I particularly liked the hake – really delicious and perfectly cooked. And Hum got her sea view during dinner so all good!

We had an excellent night’s sleep in our comfy beds and next morning were welcomed to breakfast by everyone – they are all so friendly. I got a bowl of water and another bowl to have some of the breakfast in – delicious again. Yummy sausage and egg.

We didn’t really want to leave. Hum was in love with the room and said all the little touches made it so special. She also said that it was staggeringly good value at £80 per night and only £7.50 for me.

So definitely would advise you to get your humans to go to Cromer and stay at The Red Lion.
